What's the difference between a hostess and a brand ambassador?+
Hostesses are hospitality-first: they greet, direct, hand off to the host or sales lead, and maintain the polished tone of the room. Brand ambassadors are more active — sampling, pitching, capturing leads. For retail openings, gallery launches, private dinners, and corporate VIP events, hostesses are usually the right fit. We can also blend the two roles on a single event when needed.
How are your hostesses trained?+
Every hostess goes through Showcraft's hospitality brief: greeting cadence, posture, escorting protocols, allergen and dietary flagging, discrete guest-list management, and how to handle awkward moments (gate-crashers, intoxicated guests, VIP recognition). Most of our hostess roster also has prior hotel, restaurant, or gallery experience. For high-touch events we send a senior hostess as captain.
Can you handle a guest list with VIPs and tiered access?+
Yes. We routinely manage tiered guest lists with VIP, +1, press, and standard tiers, including discrete escalation when names aren't on the list. Hostesses arrive with the list pre-loaded on a tablet or printed, and a captain manages the gray-area judgment calls so your team isn't pulled into door drama.
Do hostesses come in their own wardrobe or yours?+
Either. Default is polished neutral (black or all-black), which works for most retail and gallery moments. For branded events we'll wardrobe to your brief: cocktail attire, brand colors, custom pieces you provide, or coordinated looks we source. Wardrobe details locked at brief stage so there's no day-of confusion.
